USA, Red Blend (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot), Edge, Napa Valley, 2008

Note: let breathe at least an hour after decanting.

Red blend of: 80% Cabernet and 20% Merlot.

N/ Clean, warm cassis. Medium-intensity barrel room. Light milk chocolate.  Round minerality, graphite, and granite. Excellent.

T/ Medium mouthfeel. Medium clean stewed cassis with a confectionery finish. Tannins a bit tight and puckering.

Backboned and well structured with nice wood work and balance – but may need a year or three more of bottle aging to round out the “edges” and let the tannins grow and soften.

Price = $16-$22 (this is a seriously impressive Q2PR selection)

Winemaker = Ray Signorello, Jr.

Ratings:

Potential (with more aging) = Astounding (95-97 point range for under $20 cabs)

Current  = Brilliant (92-93)

This wine was a gift from my friends and fellow winos, @clafournaise and @Europa_KK. Thank you very much for the intro, I plan to buy a bunch a let sit for a few years.
